Parent Academy Awards Ceremony & Multicultural Marvels Event

Parent Academy Awards Ceremony

To support non-Chinese speaking (NCS) ethnic minority (EM) parents in creating a joyful and effective learning environment at home, the C-for-Chinese@JC project held this year's Parent Academy Awards Ceremony on 22 June 2024. The event buzzed with excitement as 107 NCS EM families from various project schools attended with their children, celebrating their achievements and sharing the joy of their successes. It was a heart-warming occasion where everyone exchanged their experiences and highlights from the Parent Academy.

Additionally, on 27 April, we also organised the “Multicultural Marvels: Play, Discover, and Make Friends!” event, which was a fantastic opportunity to further promote cultural inclusion and enhance interactions between EM and Chinese families. Families from different ethnicities and backgrounds gathered to enjoy a series of multicultural-themed activities, savouring the joy of cultural exchange.

Multicultural Marvels: Play, Discover, and Make Friends!

On the day of the event, families from different ethnicities and backgrounds gathered. They read Chinese storybooks about friendship, made small photo frames by hand, decorated cakes with South Asian Henna designs and Chinese calligraphy featuring the character "吉," and played cricket, a sport highly valued in South Asian regions. These activities not only facilitated interaction among families but also allowed participants to experience the beauty of multicultural inclusion.
