Reading Scheme (School-based)
How does the Reading Scheme (School-based) Support Kindergarten to Primary School Transition?
Literacy development is paramount for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) ethnic minority (EM) students to succeed in academic achievement because primary education requires strong abilities in reading and writing Chinese.
To strengthen the academic preparedness of NCS EM students at the kindergarten to primary school transition period, the C-for-Chinese@JC project offers a full-fledged Reading Scheme to extend their Chinese learning hours after school.
The scheme will provide intensive support to K1 - P3 NCS EM students who need extra support in literacy development after school.
